Representatives of Times Higher Education, an influential weekly magazine based in London, UK, reporting specifically on news and issues related to higher education, will visit Georgia soon.
The announcement came after the meeting of Georgian Education Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli with the magazine staff in London, within the Education World Forum bringing together up to 100 education ministers worldwide and state officials in the capital of Great Britain.
Only Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University is mentioned from Georgia in the international ratings published by the magazine annually
The ratings are important as many students abroad rely on the survey to select an institution of higher education.
When coming to Georgia, the Times Higher Education representatives are scheduled to hold meetings in Georgian higher education institutes and universities to agree on a future cooperation format with them.
Such agreements will support the popularization of the Georgian education system. Other Georgian higher education institutions, not only Tbilisi State University, may appear in the ratings by the magazine that will attract more foreign students to Georgia and make new possibilities for exchange programs,” Georgia’s Education Ministry wrote.
The Education World Forum is running between January 21 and 24.
