Georgian law enforcers carried out the extradition of an individual wanted by Kazakhstan on June 24, announces Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who was born in 1982, has been wanted by Astana Interpol since September 8, 2014 and is accused of robbery and murder.
The Kazakh citizen was detained in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi on June 11 on the territory of the former parliament building when he was joining in a demonstration that was taking place on Rustaveli Avenue at that time.
The Kazakh citizen resisted the police in determining his identity and did not obey the law enforcers, so he was detained. Police seized a knife during a personal check of the detainee.
The Tbilisi City Court sentenced the detainee to 10-day detention, after which the Chief Prosecutor's Office resumed his extradition procedures.
Finally on June 24 Kazakh citizen he was extradited from Georgia via Tbilisi International Airport.
