For the first time in the history of Georgian rugby, Tbilisi hosted European Rugby Challenge Cup matches at the Avchala Rugby Stadium today.

The London Irish defeated Krasny Yar with a score of 24 to 17. However, Georgian rugby player Giorgi Pruidze has been named as The Man of the Match.

Yet another Georgian sportsman Lasha Malaghuradze plays in the Krasny Yar, while Lasha Lomidze plays in the London Irish, Davit Kacharava and Mikheil Gachechiladze – in Enisey.

Georgia is among 20 countries that qualify for the European Rugby Challenge Cup, which is an annual European rugby union competition organised by European Professional Club Rugby.
