Georgian capital Tbilisi has been acknowledged as the leader of the Green Cities initiative of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania received the first prize award for the best innovative project for Tbilisi environmentally friendly buses at the EBRD 2017 Annual Meeting and Business Forum in Nicosia, Cyprus today.

Cyprus is hosting the EBRD's 26th annual meeting of the board of governors and business forum from May 9-11. Today, on the final day of the event the award ceremony took place and Tbilisi’s new bus project was recognised.
Prior to this, Georgian Finance Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili hosted a panel session about the investment opportunities in Georgia. He presented Georgia’s success story to about 2,000 participants from around the globe, including high-level government officials, financial and corporate executives, entrepreneurs from the region and representatives of civil society.

The overall theme of the Business Forum was Targeting Green and Inclusive Growth – Meeting Regional and Global Challenges. The Forum provided an opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved, and on the many economic, social and political issues now facing the region.
