Georgian Ambassador to UK named Diplomat of the Year from Eurasia

Ambassador of Georgia to the United Kingdom (UK) Tamar Beruchashvili has been named Diplomat of the Year from Eurasia.
Beruchashvili was recognised as one of the most influential diplomats based in the UK at Tata DIPLOMAT Magazine 2017 annual Awards Ceremony on Monday.

The event brought together Ambassadors and High Commissioners from over 95 countries and diplomats from over 120 countries and was held at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London.
In its ninth year, the awards ceremony recognised the outstanding work and achievements of London’s diplomatic community, who are trying to better their nations’ well-being.
DIPLOMAT magazine identified 10 categories that recognise different levels of diplomacy, and winners were nominated by their peers.
Beruchashvili, who served as Georgia’s Foreign Minister in 2014-2015, has been Georgia’s Ambassador to the UK since March of 2016.
The United Kingdom remains a steadfast supporter of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and will continue to support the country in its democratic reforms, says the British Foreign Secretary.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili was the guest of honour at this year's Queen's Birthday Party at the British Embassy in Tbilisi, to honour Queen Elizabeth II.
Georgia is celebrating the Day of Georgian Diplomacy today. Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has issued a statement regarding the occasion, saying that today is "a very important holiday for our state”.
Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization has been elected as the Vice President of the IMO Assembly. Tamar Beruchashvili was elected to the role at the Assembly’s 30th session yesterday.
