An auditorium at a Lithuanian university will be named after Georgia’s highly-esteemed public figure, writer, poet and 19th Century journalist Ilia Chavchavadze.
The decision was announced as the Georgian Language Day was celebrated at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences in Vilnius today.
The university administration said Ilia Chavchavadze Auditorium will open soon.

The Georgian Language Day is a traditional event at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. This year’s celebration saw three different exhibitions about Georgia – one about Georgian alphabet and its development, and the other two about Georgian literature and Georgia-Lithuania relations.

Georgian Ambassador to Lithuania Khatuna Salukvadze spoke at the event attended by Lithuanian and Georgian professors and students.
