The President of the United States, Donald Trump has unveiled his National Security Strategy and the document mentions Georgia.

The document says that "with its invasions of Georgia and Ukraine, Russia has demonstrated its willingness to violate the sovereignty of states in the region”.

In the document, Europe is referred to as "one of the most prosperous regions in the world” and America’s "most significant trading partner”. But it adds that Russia is using subversive measures to weaken the credibility of America’s commitment to Europe, undermine transatlantic unity, and weaken European institutions and governments.

"Russia continues to intimidate its neighbors with threatening behavior, such as nuclear posturing and the forward deployment of offensive capabilities”, the new National Security Strategy said.

The document named Russia and China as America’s top competitors and threats.
