US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has stated that his country strongly supports Georgia’s membership in NATO.
We strongly support Georgia’s aspirations to become NATO member. We strongly support the open door policy. No third party should have anything to say about a country's pursuit of NATO membership,” Tillerson said within the NATO foreign ministerial in Brussels.

Tillerson stated he had a productive discussion with Georgian Foreign Minister Janelidze in the frame of the ministerial.
Georgia is a large contributor to our joint efforts in Afghanistan. In fact, they are the largest per capita of any contributing nation,” he stated.
NATO foreign ministerial was held on December 5-6 in which NATO foreign ministers reiterated their support to Georgia.
The gathering also saw the NATO-Georgia Commission meeting.
