Georgia’s Ministry of Agriculture is planning to support the establishment of a large greenhouse association in western Georgia in the "nearest future”, reads a press release by the ministry.
More specifically, the large association will be established by the Agriculture Projects Management Agency and will be positioned as a regional hub for producing and distributing various vegetable crops and especially herbs.
In order to get more experience and knowledge in establishing modern greenhouses Georgia’s Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili visited Israel, where he saw local greenhouses and met with heads of large agricultural companies of Israel.
Israel is one of the leading countries in greenhouses and producing different products. It is important for us that Israel shares its experience in creating greenhouses; implementing modern technologies, effective irrigation systems and organised logistic systems,” said Davitashvili.
Within his visit in Israel, Davitashvili will also meet Minister of Agriculture and Rural Developmen of Israel Uri Ariel.
