H&M opens debut store in Georgia

Swedish fashion retailer H&M, famous for offering fashion-forward apparel at affordable prices, has officially opened its first store in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi today.
Georgian Co-Investment Fund’s (GCF) subsidiary Tbilisi Plaza LLC and H&M (Hennes & Mauritz AB) signed an agreement according to which H&M opened a store in Galleria Tbilisi mall.

Galleria Tbilisi was one of Georgian Co-Investment Fund’s ongoing investment projects in hospitality and real estate sector, with a total investment size of $80 million USD.

H&M was the first retailer with which the agreement was reached. The H&M Group revealed expansion plans back in 2016.
Today there are six H&M unique fashion brands, more than 4,200 stores in 64 markets and e-commerce in 35 countries.
One of Georgia’s largest investment projects, Galleria Tbilisi, has been showcased at a global real estate exhibition in Cannes, France and has gained the interest of top international buyers.

A multifunctional shopping centre has opened in an abandoned Soviet-era building in central Tbilisi today, to reinvigorate Georgia’s capital, develop real estate and commercial markets and encourage more tourists to visit the city. The building, commonly known as the Univermagi building, located near Freedom Square has been transformed into a modern shopping centre named Galleria Tbilisi.
“Made in Georgia” will be printed on labels on the inside of the clothing of Swedish fashion retailer H&M.
