One dies in mining accident in Georgia

A miner has died during underground works as a mine shaft at Mindeli coal mine in the town of Tkibuli in the west of Georgia last night.
The Ministry of Economy said an investigation is underway as the incident has revealed that safety regulations were violated.
The accident in the Mindeli mine has claimed the life of miner Davit Phorchkhidze.
A joint team of the ministries of economy and healthcare demanded the suspension of mining activities before investigation is over.
Saknakhshiri GIG Group that is responsible over the mining process expressed sorrow over the case and offered condolences to the family of the deceased.
