Georgian PM, EBRD President discuss Georgia’s reform agenda

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has hosted President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Sir Suma Chakrabarti at the Government Administration in Tbilisi today.

EBRD’s projects in Georgia and the Georgian government’s four-point reform plan were in focus of the conversation.

Kvirikashvili thanked Chakrabarti for his support and stressed that during the 25-year cooperation with Georgia the EBRD invested about €3 billion in more than 200 projects in the country.

The pair also discussed EBRD’s strategy with regard to Georgia. They stressed that this policy is oriented on supporting Georgia’s four-point reform agenda.

Kvirikashvili also spoke about ongoing pension reform and said that it will come into force in the third quarter of 2018.

The President of EBRD arrived to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi two days ago. He has already met with Georgian Finance Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili and Economy Minister Giorgi Gakharia.

While in Tbilisi, he is also scheduled to participate in a meeting of the Council of Investors together with Prime Minister Kvirikashvili later today.
