No more flight delays at Tbilisi International Airport

All airline companies operate without delay at Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli International Airport, announces TAV Georgia, a Turkish-owned company that operates Georgia’s Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi international airports.

TAV Georgia explained, on August 10, at 2:00 am the aviation communications network of Tbilisi International Airport encountered a system problem, due to which, passenger registration system was restricted to part of airlines.

This problem caused delay of seven out of 22 flights scheduled from 02:00 to 09:00.

The maximum time of delay of was one hour and 20 minutes. In order to eliminate the problem, TAV Georgia's IT service contacted the global aviation communications system SITA's head office in Montreal, Canada. At this stage all airline companies operate without delay,” said TAV Georgia.

This case was even discussed at today’s Government Meeting, were Georgia’s Economy Minister Giorgi Gakharia promised to Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili that the problem would be solved as soon as possible.
