Georgia in focus of literature festival in Prague

Georgia is the honoured guest of an international festival in Prague.

31 Georgian authors participate in ‘Author’s Reading Month’ that has kicked off on June 29.

Various literature events will be held at other destinations as well, including:

  • Brno and Ostrava - Czech Republic;
  • Wroclaw - Poland;
  • Kosice - Slovakia;
  • Lviv - Ukraine.

Addressing the audience at the opening ceremony, Georgia’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic Zaal Goksadze spoke about Georgia’s literature traditions and its global importance.

Local Czech assembly performed Georgian folk songs, while the Georgian writer Dato Turashvili read extracts from his book.

The guests could taste different Georgian food and beverages.
