Georgia in focus of literature festival in Prague

Georgia is the honoured guest of an international festival in Prague.
31 Georgian authors participate in ‘Author’s Reading Month’ that has kicked off on June 29.
Various literature events will be held at other destinations as well, including:
- Brno and Ostrava - Czech Republic;
- Wroclaw - Poland;
- Kosice - Slovakia;
- Lviv - Ukraine.
Addressing the audience at the opening ceremony, Georgia’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic Zaal Goksadze spoke about Georgia’s literature traditions and its global importance.
Local Czech assembly performed Georgian folk songs, while the Georgian writer Dato Turashvili read extracts from his book.
The guests could taste different Georgian food and beverages.
Georgia’s capital Tbilisi will be the go-to place for local and visiting enthusiasts of literature over this week, as the city hosts its third International Festival of Literature starting today.
Over a dozen Georgian authors are featured at one of Europe’s largest book fairs that launched in Leipzig, Germany earlier today with the first-ever appearance of a writer from Georgia at a prestigious literary platform at the event.
