926 polluters fined in Tbilisi, 384 are foreigners

The pedestrian inspectors tasked to combat environmental pollution have fined 926 people in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi since April 20 this year, out of which 384 were citizens of foreign countries.

The amount of the fines reached 106,820 GEL.

The inspectors fined 882 physical and 44 legal entities for polluting the environment.

What are the fines for throwing garbage on the streets?

  • Throwing less than 2 kg of garbage:  For a person - 80 GEL, for throwing from out of a window - 100 GEL.
  • Throwing more than 2 kg of garbage:  For a person - 150 GEL, for throwing from out of a window - 500 GEL.
  •  Remaining feces of a dog or other pets: - 50 GEL. If a person cleans up the feces afterwards, he/she will not be fined.
  • Polluting the environment with a tire under five-units (not bicycle tires) - 150 GEL.Polluting the environment with a tire over five-unit tire (not bicycle tires) - 500 GEL.
  • Polluting the environment with dangerous materials: for a person - 400 GEL, for legal entities - 1000 GEL.

In total 20 inspectors from Tbilservice Group monitor pollution in Tbilisi, 10 men and 10 women.
