Afghan Finance Minister pays official visit to Georgia

Finance Minister of Afghanistan Eklil Ahmad Hakimi is visiting Georgia to meet local authorities and discuss trade-economic issues with them.
The first meeting is being held with Georgia’s Finance Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili.
Later Hakimi will meet other members of Government of Georgia and also local business representatives.
Besides trade-economic relations between Georgia and Afghanistan, Hakimi is also interested in deepening cooperation in the field of transport.
Also, the Afghan Minister’s interest is in those successful reforms that Georgia has been implementing in various directions.
While meeting with representatives of the private sector Hakimi will be introduced to Georgia’s agriculture sector and its opportunities.
Hakimi is visiting Georgia on June 28-29. After meeting with local authorities in the capital of Tbilisi, Hakimi will visit the Black Sea towns of Batumi and Poti to learn about the ports of both towns and their operations.
Georgian companies could be given the right to participate in tenders in Afghanistan.
Georgian troops serving in the international peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan are honing their skills by training personnel in evacuation and security actions.
