Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili condemns a terror attack in the Pakistani city of Parachinar that killed 21 people and left many injured.

"I am appalled by the terrorist attack in the Pakistani city of Parachinar, an explosion that claimed the lives of 21 people and left many injured. I offer my sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims, to the Pakistani people and Government", Kvirikashvili said in a statement.

"I wish speedy recovery to the injured. I hope that the organisers and executors of this attack will be severely punished".

Georgia’s Foreign Ministry also issued a statement, condemning the attack.

"Georgia firmly condemns any form of terrorism. During this difficult moment, the Foreign Ministry of Georgia stands by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, its Government, people and the families of those killed", the Ministry said.

The blast took place yesterday in a vegetable market full of shoppers.

A faction of the Pakistani Taliban said it was behind the blast and its goal was "to avenge the killing of our associates".
