Georgia appoints new Deputy Chief Prosecutor

Former head of the Investigation Service of the Finance Ministry of Georgia, Giorgi Badashvili, has been appointed Deputy Chief Prosecutor.

Previously, Badashvili served as Chief Prosecutor and the current Chief Prosecutor, Irakli Shotadze, was once his deputy.

The Chief Prosecutor’s Office announced the appointment of Badashvili as Deputy Chief Prosecutor today.

Badashvili, born in 1981, served as head of the Investigation Service of the Finance Ministry from 2015-2017. He was Georgia’s Chief Prosecutor from January 2014 to December 2015.

He speaks Georgian, English and Russian.
