Victor Hugo’s epic novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame premiered by the Georgian stage director Paata Tsikurishvili this May has been reviewed as one of the best shows in the United States’ capital of Washington.

Per Synetic Theater’s official page Tsikurishvili’s play "brings his mind-bending, cinematic style to Victor Hugo’s gothic, heartbreaking epic of inner beauty and undying loyalty”.

The Washington Post’s chief theater critic Peter Marks says Tsikurishvili’s play "gives a hyper-creative Washington group a source for one of its most beautifully realised productions”.

Founded by Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili, Synetic Theater made its artistic debut in 2002 with a wordless Hamlet show and quickly established itself as a dazzling and innovative physical theater company.
