Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili says he will do his utmost to end the immoral practice of releasing information about a person's private life in Georgia.

I will guarantee that my Government will take the path that will end this illegal approach. I will do my best to end illegal surveillance,” said Kvirikashvili in reference to the recent leaking of intimate videos online.

The PM said the videos reflecting the private lives of Georgian citizens were made, kept and spread by people who opposed Georgia’s progress and the current Government’s achievements.

He added the previous government promoted progress in various directions but from 2007 it created a "horrific" situation in the country as it focused on blackmailing and threatening of its people.

Overall the PM refrained from widely speaking about the former United National Movement (UNM) government as he believed it was time to move on from the past, and taking action to create a better future was more essential than dwelling about the former government.
