Georgia's National Centre of Manuscripts will host socially underprivileged children in a charity event for an exhibition and engaging activities tomorrow.

The Centre will host 25 young visitors from children's homes within its project Social Christmas Tree.

The children will be invited to view the continuous exhibition of the Centre as well as take part in activities designed to teach them the old historical techniques for creating letters and binding books.

Founded by the Society of Friends of the venue, the project aimed to raise awareness on Georgia's manuscript legacy among the visiting viewers.

The project was also designed to contribute to integration of socially underprivileged young citizens in society.

Manuscript Centre director Buba Kudava and employees of the venue will personally host the visiting children.

The Manuscript Centre held the most significant archive of tens of thousands of historical manuscripts and papers in Georgia.

The Centre was founded by professor Ilia Abuladze in 1958, with its Society of Friends established in 2011.
