The year has started positively for Georgia, with millions of dollars flowing into the economy from increasing wine and brandy sales to export markets all over the world.
In the first month of 2016 Georgia exported 1,521,802 bottles of wine to 19 countries, which generated $3.62 million USD for Georgia.
Today the Georgian National Wine Agency reported the country exported 13 percent more Georgian wine in January 2016 than in the same month of 2015.

The Agency said out of these top five consumer countries, exports of Georgian wine increased to Russia by 162 percent, Lithuania by 34 percent and Poland by 22 percent.
In January 2016 Georgia also saw a 104 percent increase in brandy exports.
The Agency said Georgia exported 562,930 bottles of brandy last month, worth $1.51 million USD.
So far this year Georgia earned about $6.6 million USD from exporting alcoholic beverages.
