Georgia’s capital is preparing to host hundreds of top officials at a special conference in April 2017 that will support the development and expansion of Georgia's ski tourism market and ensure its steady, sustainable growth.
Today the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) signed an agreement in London to hold the third Euro-Asian Ski Resorts Conference in Tbilisi.
It is very important that the Euro-Asian Ski Resorts Conference will be held in Georgia, and especially after [the country] hosted a very successful wine conference in September,” said UNWTO secretary general Taleb Rafai.
The wine conference was also organised by the UNWTO and the GNTA, and was held in different parts of Georgia’s famous wine region Kakheti.
In April next year more than 250 delegates from different countries will visit Georgia to attend the third Euro-Asian Ski Resorts Conference in Tbilisi and share experience of modern approaches and new trends in basic and touristic infrastructure.
At the same time the experts will announce new tourist products to extend the winter season and innovative methods used around the world to better position ski resorts in the international marketplace.
The GNTA said next year's conference was "a very good opportunity" for Georgia to attract investors to the mountain resort business.
