Export of Georgian agricultural products on rise

Georgia is exporting more agricultural products abroad this year, says the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.

In the first 10 months of 2016 Georgia exported its goods to 87 countries. Year-on-year (y/y) export of Georgian agricultural products increased 11.5 percent.

Between January 1 to October 23 Georgia exported $524.5 million USD worth of agricultural goods, which was an 11.5 percent increase y/y.

Specifically, the following products saw significant increase in export capacity:

  • Alcoholic drinks - 33.7 percent increase y/y (worth $68.5 million)
  • Live cattle – 80 percent increase (worth $29.6 million)
  • Wine – 13.1 percent increase (worth $83.6 million)
  • Fishmeal – 133 percent increase (worth 14.8 million)
  • Vegetables – 18 percent increase

This year Georgia exported agricultural products to 87 countries.
