For the first time in the 25-year history of independent Georgia, the Central Election Commission (CEC) will broadcast live footage of election votes being counted.

The aim of the idea is for the public to see the transparency of the vote counting process,” CEC head Tamar Zhvania told local media.

The live coverage will take place in the hours after the October 8 Parliamentary Elections in Georgia.

People can access this live footage on the CEC’s official webpage , on the official CEC of Georgia Facebook page and through YouTube.

Zhvania said the live coverage will utilise ‘360 degree’ technology so viewers can see all angles and multiple viewpoints of the vote counting process.
