Georgia’s trade sector is growing and offering more jobs to citizens.
Today Georgia’s Economy Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili announced 10 percent more people were employed in Georgia’s trade sector in the second quarter (Q2) of 2016 compared to the same period of 2015.
Today more than 153,000 people are employed in the trade sector. This year Georgia’s trade sector employs 14,000 more people compared to 2015.”
He made these comments at the official opening of French hypermarket Bricorama, in capital Tbilisi.
This store alone created more than 90 jobs in Georgia’s trade sector.

This is the first Bricorama store in Tbilisi and the first outside the European Union (EU).
Located on Marshal-Gelovani Ave in Tbilisi, the Bricorama store will sell more than 30,000 varieties of construction materials.
More than 20 million GEL (about $8.66 million/€7.70 million*) was invested in the new hypermarket.
In general, Bricorama operates more than 200 hypermarkets in the EU so far.
