Georgia is preparing to host a visit of two members of the United States (US) Congress.

Congressmen Duncan Hunter and Mark Sanford are expected to arrive in Tbilisi later today.

While in Georgia the US officials will meet Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili and Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze.

The visit will focus on three main topics, Georgia’s Foreign Ministry said. These topics are:

  • The reforms recently implemented in Georgia
  • The country’s pre-election situation and
  • Georgia-US strategic partnership

The two sides will also discuss Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, the tough situation in the country’s Russian-occupied regions and security issues in the broader regional space.
