A person needs at least $76 USD to support themselves in Georgia, reveals the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The minimum subsistence level for a working age male in May 2016 was 160.6 GEL (about $76/€67*), claimed the statistical agency in its latest data published today.
The minimum subsistence level is calculated based on the minimum cost of items in the food basket, defined by Georgian law since 2004. The indicator did not include monthly mortgage or rent costs, or utility bills.
For the average consumer, the minimum subsistence level was 160.6 GEL in May, while an average family needed at least 269.4 GEL to survive.
