The Government of Georgia, through the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories Accommodation and Refugees, will soon hand over new living accommodation to 159 internally displaced families.

The IDP families will receive new, modern apartments in the Olympic Village, located at Tbilisi Sea, announced the Ministry of Refugees today.

The Ministry said the recipients of the new apartments were IDP families who were extremely vulnerable and were living in poorer conditions than others.

Later this year 400 more IDP families will receive new homes in the Olympic Village, in the settlement that was constructed for 2015 Tbilisi European Youth Olympic Festival by China’s Hualing Group.

After the Olympic Festival the Government purchased several flats from the developer for Georgia’s vulnerable population.

Since coming to power in 2012 the current Government has gifted new, modern accommodations in Tbilisi to 561 internally displaced families.
