Georgia’s continues its efforts to develop the country’s regions and rural areas.

The state has allocated 120 million GEL to rehabilitate or build roads, water supply systems and kindergartens across Georgia.

Each municipality presented their own projects at yesterday’s meeting of the governmental commission of regional development.

"It’s important that this year, we started preparation earlier so today, we discussed funding of concrete works and did not have to lose time on discussing projects as projects were all done in autumn,” Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Tengiz Shergelashvili said.

The meeting also discussed the regulations for co-funding between the municipalities and the central government.

Officials said such meetings would take place in the future too to ensure Georgia’s regions are as developed as the country’s central area.
