Georgia is concerned by recent news reports that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorism group had killed hundreds of Yazidi captives in Iraq.

Georgia’s Foreign Ministry said the latest action of ISIS were the greatest crime against humanity.

"Georgia’s Foreign Ministry supports Iraq’s government and the international society’s efforts to stabilise the situation in the country and hopes the joint efforts will make it possible to overcome this challenge,” the Ministry said in its written statement.

The Ministry offered its condolences to the Iraqi government and the victims’ families.

On Friday officials reported hundreds of Yazidi captives, including women, children and the elderly, had been killed in Iraq’s north by militants of ISIS.
