Internationally recognised Georgian opera singer Nino Machaidze is in Tbilisi for her first recital after a long break.
The Georgian singer will perform at the International Festival of Academic Arts and Classical Music ‘From Easter to Ascension’ at the Tbilisi Conservatory Grand Hall on April 16.
The concert will also feature famous tenor Shalva Mukeria and the Orchestra of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre, under the baton of David Kintsurashvili.
The Festival established 10 years ago and aimed to promote classical and folk music.
Since 2006 musical evenings held throughout Holy Week have been held in different regions of Georgia to raise money for charity.
This year all funds raised will go the Solidarity Fund to help fund vital treatment for children with cancer.
Within the Festival program, a concert will take place at the Tbilisi Conservatory Grand Hall on May 17, dedicated to Jerusalem Day, featuring outstanding Israeli drummer and conductor Chen Zimbalista.
Revelers of classical music will have a chance to enjoy a performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto by renowned pianist and Art Director of the festival, Alexander Korsantia, and his friend, the famous pianist and mentor Sergei Babayan on May 19.
