Georgia’s exports worth $503 million USD in 3 months

The first part of the year has seen the value of Georgia’s exports and imports (External Merchandise Trade) experience a slight downward trend in comparison to 2014, claims Geostat.

In January, February and March, Georgia’s External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-organised trade) amounted to $2.279 billion USD. This was a 10 percent drop when compared to the same figures of 2014.

Geostat preliminary data revealed the value of exports decreased by 28 percent year-on-year, and reached $503 million, while imports dropped three percent and amounted to $1.776 billion.

The trade deficit equalled $1.273 billion and its share in the country’s total trade turnover constituted 56 percent.

Geostat noted more detailed data on External Merchandise Trade of Georgia will be published on April 21, 2015.
