Georgian literature corner opens in Charles University

A selection of Georgian books are on their way to Charles University in Prague, where a Georgian book corner will be established.

Avid readers and enthusiasts of foreign literature in Prague can now enjoy Georgian books thanks to the opening of a Georgian book corner at one of the oldest and largest universities in the Czech Republic.

A selection of Georgian books are on their way to Charles University in Prague, where a Georgian book corner will be established. The University was founded in 1348 and was the first university in Central Europe.

Prague is 13th city around the globe where Georgian book spaces have opened in universities of the world.

Director of Georgia’s National Library Giorgi Kekelidze has been invited to Charles University to give a public lecture in recognition of the opening of the Georgian book corner.

"The Georgian book corner does not contain only Georgian pieces of writings; it also includes foreign language literature about Georgia,” Kekelidze said.

Looking ahead, Georgian book corners will soon open in universities in Barcelona, Spain; Jakarta, Indonesia and New York, in the United States.
