The country’s National Statistics Service, GeoStat, has started to review and collate Census 2014 data obtained during the field work held in November 2014.
Preliminary Census data will be released in April.
Information about the country’s population size and how it was composed (gender, age) and socio-economic factors, such as the employment rate, level of education and health, wealth, household conditions, agricultural activities and more will come to light in April 2015.
Final Census data is expected to be released towards the end of the year.
In Georgia a Census is held every 12 years. The last Census took place in 2002.
Surveying for the Census 2014 took place from November 5-19 across the country. Georgian residents living in 382 villages in Georgia’s mountainous areas were surveyed in September as bad weather was forecast for November.
