Azerbaijani Foreign Minister to arrive in Tbilisi

The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov will arrive in Georgia for a two-day official visit on February 19.
Press speaker of Georgia’s Foreign Ministry David Kereselidze today announced the visit had high importance due to the strategic and friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
"The visit is important especially considering the fact that our cooperation deepens in a number of areas, including in the fields of energy and transport,” he said.
Within his visit, Mammadyarov will meet with his Georgian colleague Tamar Bewruchashvili, President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili.
The sides will discuss a wide range of topics, including cooperation in the areas of politics, trade and economy, energy and culture.
The first test train is set to begin operating on the new Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway project later today.
The Foreign Ministers of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey have pledged to enhance bilateral and trilateral cooperation among their countries for the common purpose of strengthening stability in the region.
The Georgian Prime Minister is rubbing shoulders with world leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, including Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
