The Russian Federation is continuing its creeping occupation of Georgian soil and kidnapping locals living near the so-called Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) with Georgia’s breakaway Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region.
Today Russian border guards kidnapped a man from Koshka village, located near the Russian controlled area.
Reports claim local resident David Kudukhashvili was detained while he collected firewood from an area under Georgian control but was told he had illegally crossed the border into the occupied territory.
He was subsequently taken to a detention centre in Tskhinvali.
Russian occupying forces or representatives from de facto Tskhinvali have not yet contacted Kudukhashvili’s family.
Typically the family of the detained was contacted and demanded a fine in exchange for the release of their loved one.
Last month alone more than 20 Georgian citizens were kidnapped by occupying forces along the Tskhinvali ABL. Several were released after paying a fine.
