Georgia's capital Tbilisi will host the 2016 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Junior World Championships.
This decision was announced by international weightlifting officials in Houston, the United States on Thursday.
The event was scheduled to be held in the Tunisian capital Tunis before the IWF's Executive Board decided to withdraw the venue owing to security considerations and certain technical difficulties reported by the host nation.
The Championships were subsequently reallocated to Tbilisi.
The international event will take place in June 2016.
In April this year Tbilisi hosted the 2015 European Weightlifting Championships. The IWF said the event was successful and well organised and that was why it decided to offer Georgia the hosting rights to next year's competition.
