For every four people in Georgia there is a vehicle, the country’s latest vehicle density statistics reveal.
According to data released by Georgia’s Interior Ministry, vehicle numbers increased every year, however last year the number of cars being driven on Georgian roads jumped almost 10 percent.
The 2014 full-year figures showed 80 percent of all vehicles in Georgia were passenger cars and SUVs, most of which were gray/silver (almost 28 percent) and white (16 percent) in colour.
Almost 90 percent of all vehicles in the country were older than 11 years while only two percent of all cars were less than three years old.
The most common car brands in Georgia were Mercedes Benz and Opel but a significant increase was shown in the number of Nissan and Subaru vehicles now on Georgian roads.
The most popular car models were Opel Astra and Opel Vectra followed by Mercedes Benz E-class and Mercedes Benz C-class.
Most of the passenger cars on Georgian roads were sedans (almost 50 percent) but last year saw growing demand for SUV model vehicles.
Capital Tbilisi was found to have the highest vehicle density; almost 37 percent of all vehicles in Georgia could be found driving along Tbilisi streets.

At the end of 2014, 39 percent of vehicles were imported from Japan, making it the top car importer country to Georgia.
