Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili hosted a delegation from Public Republic of China today with the aim of strengthening bilateral trade.
Representatives of the China’s ruling party discussed possibilities of cooperation in various fields with Georgian officials, the chance to restore the historical Silk Road and also touched upon topics related to the Silk Road Forum, initiated by the Georgian Government that is set to take place in Tbilisi on September 15-16, the PM’s press service said.
Friendly relations with the People's Republic of China is very important for us,” said Garibashvili, adding an increase in the number of official visits from China "speaks about the Georgian Government’s efforts to intensify and strengthen relations with the country".
At the end of the meeting the sides exchanged gifts.
The Prime Minister received a present designed personally for him – a piece of handcraft named "Horses”.
The guests explained that a horse was a symbol of success in China and through the gift they wished success to the Georgian leader.
In return PM Garibashvoli offered the Chinese guests handmade Georgian enamel.
