Locally produced chips from Georgian grown potatoes will soon enter the Georgian market.
The country’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili opened the new venture of the Frixx branded chips today, which was constructed with a four million GEL investment.
Garibashvili stressed the importance of this investment, by famous Swedish businessman and philanthropist Jean-Frederik Paulsen.
"Yet another Georgian production and a label on the package – produced in Georgia – means a lot to me. It should be noted that Jean-Frederik Paulsen came from Germany to live in Georgia. This is a clear message not only for local but also for foreign investors because the Paulsen family is famous around the world,” he said.

The Paulsen family’s investment indicated that Georgia had a supportive business environment that was a significant stimulus to other businessmen, said Garibashvili.
"This is the most vivid manifestation of the fact that Georgia has an absolutely healthy business environment. Otherwise the Paulsen family would not have invested in this country. They have been in love with Georgia for 15 years already and I want to thank them.”
In the future the Government of Georgia and the Paulsen family jointly planned to continue "serious investments” in Mukhrani to restore historic monuments that date back several centuries, said the PM.
Since March 2015 three types of Frixx chips have been produced in pilot testing stage. The enterprise currently employed 25 people but when the factory officially opened the number of jobs would increase, said company officials.
