Reforms of the Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor’s Office, the court system and human rights were the main topics discussed at a meeting between Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the new Council of Europe (CoE) head of Tbilisi office Cristian Urse.
At the introductory meeting, Georgia's PM spoke about the cooperation between the country’s Government and the Council of Europe and wished Urse success in his endeavors.
The sides expressed hope that their bilateral cooperation would deepen even further.
"Georgia is ready to continue close cooperation with its partners in order to reach significant progress in the process of implementing democratic reforms and strengthening of democratic achievements,” Garibashvili said.
The leaders also discussed the situation in Georgia’s breakaway regions and the recent developments along the Administrative Border Line (ABL) between the Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region and the rest of Georgia.
