Georgia’s Foreign Ministry has expressed concern about the recent deaths of civilians in eastern Ukraine, resulting from a shell explosion at a bus stop.
The Ministry released an official statement today that expressed sadness over the tragic incident the Leninsky district in Donetsk, where 13 innocent people were killed as a result of a shell explosion at a bus stop named Hormash.
"The increase of civilian casualties is especially disturbing,” said the Ministry.
"We believe that every effort should be made to implement a ceasefire agreement."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia sent its condolences to the families of the deceased and expressed solidarity to the Ukrainian people.
The President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili is sending his condolences to his Ukrainian colleague Peter Poroshenko after a tragedy near the city of Volnovakha, Ukraine, which claimed the lives of 12 people and wounded more than a dozen others.
Ukrainians have gathered in Kiev’s central Independence Square to mourn the fallen Georgian fighter who died while defending Ukrainian land from Russian-backed rebels near Donetsk last week.
