All of the tigers and monkeys that called Tbilisi Zoo home perished in the June 13 flash flood.
A list of Zoo surviving animals was released today, revealing about half of the animals that lived in the animal park did not survive the flood.
The lower part of Tbilisi Zoo was completely destroyed and as a result, most animals that lived in that part of the Zoo died.
Officials announced a new facility would be built for the surviving animals outside of Tbilisi in the future but until then those who survived now shared the enclosures of their upper neighbours.
It's been 24 days since the natural disaster hit Tbilisi and today Tbilisi Zoo released a list of the animals that survived the deadly flood. While no monkeys or tigers survived, many did. Those that survived included 16 carnivores, 98 reptiles, 469 fish, 129 ungulates, 7 primates and 144 birds.
