Georgia is gearing up to host part of a prestigious European rafting competition for the first time in the country’s history.
Head of the Georgian National Rafting Federation David Katsarava today announced Georgia had gained the right to hold a Euro Cup event on May 1, 2016.
"Every year, stages of the Euro Cup are held in different European countries. In 2016, Georgia will host its first Euro Cup event in the history of rafting in this country,” Katsarava noted.
In Georgia the rafting competition will take place on the Mtkvari River in Chitakhevi village, located in the country’s Borjomi region.
