Georgia is preparing to host an exhibition of more than 50 German companies and organisations at an expo in the capital city Tbilisi next week.
On May 20, Expo Germany will be held in Tbilisi.
The annual fair is organised by the German Business Association (DWV) and will be held at the Expo Georgia exhibition centre in cooperation with Caucasus Build - Georgia's largest trade fair.
More than 50 German companies and organisations active in Georgia and the South Caucasus will present their products and services to visitors. It is expected several thousand guests will attend the one-day event.
In parallel with the exhibition, three delegations of German businessmen will visit Georgia.
The first delegation consists of 13 members representing the construction, mining and infrastructure sectors. This group will tour Georgia with support of the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy from May 17- 23.
The German guests will visit the main cities of Georgia; Batumi, Kutaisi and Tbilisi and hold several meetings and inspect various manufactures.
The German businessmen will be introduced to the Georgian market and establish contacts with potential business partners, while also learning more about Georgia’s investment opportunities.
In addition, on May 19-23 another delegation representing German company European Network Architecture (ENA) and other architectural firms will arrive to Georgia and meet with Tbilisi urban planning officials and representatives of the real estate industry.
The third delegation consisting of members of Economic Club Russia (Wirtschaftsclub Russland), which is located in Dusseldorf, is also due to come to Georgia next week. The delegation aimed to expand their network by establishing contacts with business representatives in Georgia.
Meanwhile 'The Future Award – New Silk Road’ will be hosted during Expo Germany to representatives of medium-sized business for successful initiatives of international cooperation.
The Expo Germany fair will end on the evening of May 20 with a reception hosted by the economic department of the German Embassy in Tbilisi for selected guests from business, politics and society.
