The President's palace will plunge into darkness this evening to celebrate Earth Hour.

From 20:30 to 21:30 this evening, all the lights will be turned off at the palace.

The President’s Administration made a decision to join the global environmental campaign Earth Hour that is traditionally held in March each year, the President’s press centre said.

The Earth Hour is the world's largest environmental campaign, where millions of people all over the globe turn off electricity for one hour in support of ensuring a green and sustainable future of our planet.

This year 154 countries are taking part in the campaign.

Georgia is joining Earth Hour for the sixth time this year.

The event is being organised by the United Nations in Georgia, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network (CENN).
