Georgian Prime Minister and a US Congressman shared their thoughts on Georgia-US strategic partnership prospects and Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations at a special meeting in Tbilisi.
Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met Congressman Mike Rogers from Republican Party at the Chancellery of Georgian Government yesterday.
When the pair discussed Garibashvili’s recent visit to the US, Congressman Rogers congratulated him on a "successful visit”. In return, the Georgian PM thanked the dignitary for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Congressman Rogers said he was glad Georgia was about to sign the Association Agreement with the European Union two months earlier than previously planned. He hoped the country would succeed in the same way in terms of becoming a member of NATO.
The US Ambassador to Georgia Richard Norland also attended the meeting, as well as a delegation led by the Congressman. Rogers, from Michigan, arrived in Georgia yesterday.
