This spring more Japanese visitors could soon touch down on Georgian soil thanks to a new tourism campaign in Japan.

Japanese-based global healthcare company, Nature Plus, will finance the initiative, which will include creating information brochures, a website and social network operation in the Japanese language.

The company's vision is to promote wellness and healthy living worldwide.

The agreement was signed in Tbilisi today by the Manager of Nature Plus Satoshi Abara and the Head of the National Tourism Administration Giorgi Sigua. The ceremony was also attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Georgia Toshio Kaitani.

The Georgian and Japanese sides agreed to schedule a press tour in Georgia for Japanese journalists.

A promotional video will be created jointly by the Georgian and Japanese parties, showing a performance by Japanese dance group IKV48.

Furthermore, Tokyo will host a 'Georgian Tourism Day’ in the near future.

Latest data revealed Georgia was visited by 4507 Japanese tourists last year, a 31% increase compared to 2012.
