Georgia Olympians arrive in Sochi

Georgia’s Olympic athletes have arrived in Sochi.
The team touched down on Russian soil early this morning.
A short time later at the Olympic village, the red and white Georgian flag was raised while the country’s national anthem played.
Georgian skiers Nino Tsiklauri, Iason Abramishvili and Alexi Beniaidze arrived in Sochi early this morning with the wider group of the National Olympic Committee.
Figure skater Elene Gedevanishvili will join the team in Sochi on February 14.
The Olympic Committee stated administrative issues had been managed and there had not been any kind of problems since the group’s arrival in Sochi, which is 40 km from Abkhazia – a breakaway region of Georgia.
Georgia will be represented in Sochi only by the sporting delegation and the Olympic Committee that will participate in the events organized by the International Olympic Committee.
Georgia's flag bearer, alpine skier Nino Tsiklauri, led the small Georgian delegation around the stadium during the Opening Ceremony held at the Fisht Olympic Stadium on February 7.
